How we collect, use, communicate and protect personal information.

In accordance with the Data Protection Act 2018 and the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), this privacy notice explains, in detail, the types of personal data we may collect about you when you interact with us. It also explains how we store and handle that data and keep it safe.

ASR Advantage Solicitors is the controller and responsible for your personal data (collectively referred to as ASR Advantage Solicitors, 'we', 'us' or 'our' in this privacy notice).

We will collect personal information by lawful and fair means and, where appropriate, with the knowledge or consent of the individual concerned. We will only retain personal information for as long as necessary for the fulfilment of those purposes.

We will protect personal information by using reasonable security safeguards against loss or theft, as well as unauthorised access, disclosure, copying, use or modification.

You have the right to make a complaint at any time to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO), the UK supervisory authority for data protection issues (www.ico.org.uk). We would, however, appreciate the chance to deal with your concerns before you approach the ICO so please contact us in the first instance.

The data we collect about you

Personal data, or personal information, means any information about an individual from which that person can be identified. It does not include data where the identity has been removed (anonymous data).

We may collect, use, store and transfer different kinds of personal data about you which we have grouped together as follows: Identity Data (first name, last name, title, date of birth and gender); Contact Data (address, email address and telephone numbers); Transaction Data (details about payments to and from you); Technical Data (IP address, browser type and version, time zone setting and location); Profile Data (preferences, feedback and survey responses); Usage Data (information about how you use our website and services); and Marketing and Communications Data (your preferences in receiving marketing from us).

How we use your personal data

We will only use your personal data when the law allows us to. Most commonly, we will use your personal data where we need to perform the contract we are about to enter into or have entered into with you, where it is necessary for our legitimate interests, or where we need to comply with a legal or regulatory obligation.

We may use your Identity, Contact, Technical, Usage and Profile Data to form a view on what we think you may want or need, or what may be of interest to you. You will receive marketing communications from us if you have requested information from us or purchased services from us and you have not opted out of receiving that marketing.
